Michael Paag, Liberal Candidate for Blue Mountains said today that the biggest risk facing the Blue Mountains is that Labor is re-elected.

“People are leaving the Blue Mountains because the local economy is struggling, train services have been cut, crime is on the rise and we have an infrastructure crisis brought about by twelve years of Labor neglect,” Mr Paag said.

“And despite paying more tax per person than anywhere else in Australia, our services and infrastructure are just not up to standard.

“We’re paying more and getting less.

“We have seen our train services and Police numbers cut, Labor has slashed funding for the upgrade of the Great Western Highway and refused to properly support local tourism, we don’t have enough classrooms or safe heating for our schoolchildren and local dental health services can’t cope.

“And Morris Iemma won’t rule out more job cuts despite running a campaign of lies against the NSW Liberals.

“Yet on March 24, Labor will be asking you to give them another chance to do the things that they should have done during the past 12 years.

“After 12 years Labor has had long enough.

“Giving Labor another 4 years is a risk we can’t afford.

“The choice is clear, either continue with the neglect of Labor or elect a local with energy and commitment to fight for better services, improved infrastructure, more funding for tourism and the creation of local jobs,” concluded Mr Paag.
